What happens if a woman takes Viagra or Cialis?

There doesn’t seem to be much detailing into the effects that Viagra would have on any woman. It’s possible entirely that the effects would be largely negligible, but they would have a some of the potential benefits. For any women, nitric oxide has a familiar effect that it does on any men. By regulating blood flow, nitric oxide can improve the sexual function & orgasms of women. In order for a woman to witness the orgasm, there is a certain amount of vaginal & labial pressure needed. These pressure levels are then controlled by elevated levels of blood flowing into your clitoris. While there has been no recent research to confirm the effects, it’s plausible that Viagra could enhance the blood flow to female genitalia, which can result to an grow in sensitivity, arousal, and likelihood of gaining orgasm.

Why Would a Woman Need Viagra?

A women cannot witness any kind of erectile dysfunction, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t witness this kind of issues relating to sexual health. For many women, the term is female sexual dysfunction (FSD) & this is a common issue. While there has been less research into female sexual dysfunction as compared to ED, there have been conclusions made about.

A study said that into female sexual dysfunction found that just under 40 percent of the premenopausal girls or women experienced some form of this. Some of the estimates have the number as high as 63 percent. Unlike ED, which is measured by strength & the duration of an erection in a man, female sexual dysfunction (FSD) can have a wider symptom that are quite different for every woman.  One study said that women experiencing female sexual dysfunction was focused on the perfect issues that they faced. The results were as follows:

  • 181 women witnessed a lack of sexual desire
  • 150 women witnessed a lack of arousal

Viagra can help men to sustain erections by improving the blood flow into the penile area. While it’s possible for an enhance of blood flow to the genitalia which helps men to treat some of the symptoms that are related to female sexual dysfunction, there are not any kind of definitive results to say that Viagra would work for sure. The FDA has approved Viagra as a best treatment for erectile dysfunction & it only recommends it to be used as such.

This doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t have potential benefits for women. At the time one study performed over the period of 12 weeks, 202 postmenopausal women witnessing female sexual dysfunction were given Viagra.  Some of the women were given Viagra doses that were ranged in between 25, 50, & 100 milligrams while few of the others were given a placebo. Are There Side Effects If a Woman Were to Take Viagra?

Trails & also the research into the side effects of Viagra were, like naturally, performed almost exclusively on some of the men. It’s unclear as to what side effects, if any, a woman would witness if she consumed Viagra, in the long term.  There is no specific reason to say that the side effects would be very much than those that a man may witness. Few of the common side effects most linked with Viagra involve:

  • Flushing in the body
  • Indigestion, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea

What Women Can Use Instead of Viagra

For women witnessing female sexual dysfunction (FSD), there are less treatments made available than for a man witnessing ED. Part of the reason is that the sexual process for any female is more complicated than it is for any man. There is a larger and complex chemical reaction needed for a woman to perform satisfactory sexual intercourse then for a man.  That being said, there are certain treatments that are made available for female sexual dysfunction, although such of their effectiveness might vary at times. Some of these treatments include:

Flibanserin

The drug that is known as flibanserin, is a known brand name being Addyi, it was advertised as “female Viagra.” It failed to meet few of the expectations and was rather underwhelming. Despite not going as per it’s popularity or effectiveness of Viagra, flibanserin is still a better option for treatment than using the PDE5.  For many women, the brain is an important sexual organ. Flibanserin focuses on three of the important chemicals in the brain that are: dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin.  Flibanserin works right by raising dopamine & norepinephrine, while lowering the serotonin. This should result in enhancement in the sexual excitement & the desire. The recommended dosage is 100 milligrams that is taken before bed each night.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Some of the other potential treatment is to restore estrogen levels to a healthy range by undergoing therapy of hormone replacement. The medicines are available as a topical cream, oral medicine, skin patch, vaginal tablet, or vaginal ring.  This treatment will normally involve taking estrogen regularly with progestogen in every two weeks. This treatment is reserved for postmenopausal women as a manner to replace estrogen levels that are lowered at the time of the process of menopause. It can however be used as an “off label” treatment for female sexual dysfunction (FSD).
